Infusion is introducing a 'Protective Priming Cap' to selected
specialist administration sets as an important additional
safety feature when delivering drugs or solutions through their
infusion pumps.
During priming, the Protective Priming Cap, which has
an internal membrane, will automatically stop any drugs or solutions
at the end of the infusion line, thereby preventing them accidently
spilling out of the line. Once the cap is taken off, the drugs or
solutions will be released.
This new feature will be added, from May 2010
onwards, at no extra cost to its customers, to the following Volumed
products:
Volumed 3101-TJ Blood transfusion set with lower Y
site.
Volumed 3101-TNOY Blood transfusion set without Y
site
Volumed 3101-LAJ Low adsorption set with lower Y site
